This is a lesson on answering Q1 and Q2 on the paper 1 English Language paper. This was used with my KS3 class to introduce them to answering the questions. Would work for KS4 for low / mid level learners. The teacher can guide them through the questions step-by-step using the PPT slides.

Get students to locate the language devices from the article and then create a descriptive story or article by choosing a funny headline as a prompt!

A lesson so learners can understand the five parts of narrative structure. They will read this short story before breaking it down in 5 parts. Following this they will then begin to plan part 2 of this short story.

Get your learners to create their own magical creature to add to ‘Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them’ book. They will start by looking at an extract from the book and doing a task on this. Then they will begin to create their own creature. Please note that this PPT and Worksheet was not my original idea and I used FREE resources that I found on TES and the internet to put into a PPT. A fun task that gets learners to draw characters from the writers description and to recognize adjectives.

A creative writing task based on the last short story in the novel. **Task: ** In this chapter, the story is told from the point of view of a third person narrator and focuses on a character named Diane Parrington. Rewrite this short story from the point of view of the young man who Diana meets on the iced lake. You need to write in the first person and the story will end exactly the same way as it does in Priestley’s book: with the young man disappearing under the cracking ice.
